Job Title: Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support specialist to join our team at ClassRoom Support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

About the Role:

The successful applicant will assist students in their daily activities, learning tasks, and educational goals. They will work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' diverse needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with PMLD, assisting with their educational and personal care needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement IEPs and ensure students' diverse needs are met
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to make them accessible and engaging for students with PMLD
  • Support students in developing their communication, social, and life skills
  • Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence for all students

Requirements:

  • Experience working with individuals with PMLD
  • Understanding of different learning styles and methods to support students with diverse needs
  • Patient, empathetic, and positive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant certifications or willingness to undergo training in special education and support techniques

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per annum

Working Hours: Full-time position, 35 hours per week
