About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Pioneer Sailing Trust as a Community Engagement Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) project.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Education Manager and Development Coach to liaise with all stakeholders
  • Manage and organise community outreach initiatives with educators, disadvantaged groups, volunteers, event attendees, and hobbyists
  • Promote, recruit, and organise the infrastructure needed for voluntary positions
  • Organise meetings both on-site and off-site
  • Advertise and promote the NLHF project through printed materials, the website, and social media
  • Manage and distribute literature about opportunities within the project
  • Produce, record, and share information with PST and all funders
  • Organise educational outreach days both on land and at sea
  • Promote PST through talks, seminars, and other ad-hoc opportunities
  • Collect and evaluate feedback data to continuously improve our programmes
  • Handle broad day-to-day administrative tasks related to the NLHF Activity Plan
About You

We are looking for someone who understands the importance of engaging a broad range of people, knowledge of health and safety, data management, and equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace. You must demonstrate enthusiasm for the work and mission of PST, have an interest in making a workplace accessible to diverse groups, and possess knowledge of heritage, the environment, and local history.

Experience in education, administration, public engagement, and event management is essential, as well as proficiency in team and individual working. You should be self-motivated, personable, adaptable, and flexible, with a willingness to work evenings and weekends. Understanding of the charitable sector, experience in the maritime sector, and an undergraduate qualification or equivalent are desirable.
