Senior Scientist – Imaging Expert

About the Role
Abcam is seeking a highly skilled Imaging expert to contribute to the expansion of our Immunocytochemistry Portfolio. The successful candidate will be part of the Immunocytochemistry and Flow Cytometry Team, reporting to the Team Leader within the Characterisation Team.
The Characterisation Team is a key function in the validation and characterization of new antibodies and new batches of existing products, ensuring functionality for our customers. We are looking for an expert in Immunocytochemistry with a proven track record of delivering projects with impressive results, as well as an ability to teach and mentor others, along with line management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring high-quality validation of new antibodies in imaging applications.
- Imaging using a variety of imaging instruments, including confocal microscopy or High-Content Analyzers (HCA).
- Streamlining current processes with a focus on continuous improvements, approaching new methods and technology proactively.
- Communicating with stakeholders, team leaders, and colleagues, providing delivery dates, updates, and necessary documentation.
- Maintaining high-quality standards within the lab, ensuring compliance with all external and internal quality standards, including ISO9001.
- Line managing and mentoring more junior colleagues, creating an engaging and developing environment.
Requirements:
You have a PhD degree or can demonstrate an equivalent level of expertise with experience in industry/academia settings. You have a strong scientific background and experience in antibody validation. You have a deep understanding and extensive experience using Confocal Microscopy or High Content Analyzer.
You will ideally have experience in automated image analysis and quantification (ICC/IHC) using AI tools. You have experience in imaging and cultivating primary mammalian cells (human/mouse).
