Vector Recruitment Ltd is a leading electronics product development company based in Cambridge. We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our team.

The salary for this position is £37,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who has experience working in a manufacturing environment and can contribute to the growth and success of our high-value manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the quality control process to ensure products meet customer requirements
  • Conducting supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with our quality standards
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Maintaining accurate records of quality metrics and reporting them to senior management
  • Providing training and guidance to production staff on quality procedures and best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • 2+ years of recent experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience working with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, continual improvement, problem solving, 5S, Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Experience operating within an ISO 9001 (or similar) certified QMS
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and evaluations (both on site and remote)
  • Excellent technical writing skills and well versed in drafting formal quality documentation (e.g. SOPs)
  • A meticulous approach to work with a strong eye for detail
  • The ability to promote a Quality culture throughout the business
  • Experience with a document management system or eQMS a bonus
  • Experience using ERP systems a bonus
  • Knowledge of injection moulding and PCB assembly processes a bonus
