Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Insurance Broker to join our team at Lawes Insurance Recruitment. As a key member of our insurance broking team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional insurance solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Client-Centric Approach: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored insurance solutions.
  2. Relationship Building: Foster and maintain relationships with insurers, ensuring seamless placement of commercial insurance risks.
  3. Insurance Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' insurance needs, identifying opportunities to provide additional value and protection.
  4. Business Development: Grow new and existing client relationships, driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence.
  5. Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on commercial insurance risks, working closely with the Board and Account Executives to ensure effective risk management.
  6. Mentorship: Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance, supporting the development of junior team members.
  7. Compliance and Regulation: Ensure all activities are conducted within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
  8. Risk Management: Handle new and existing commercial insurance risks, providing expert advice on risk mitigation and management.
  9. Policy Administration: Assist in the administration of commercial insurance policies, including quotations, renewals, and policy issues.
  10. Culture Development: Contribute to the development of a high-performing culture, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  11. Business Acumen: Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, identifying opportunities to provide additional value and support.
  12. Senior Relationships: Manage senior relationships with clients and insurers, negotiating complex placements and driving business growth.
Requirements:
  1. Commercial Insurance Experience: Proven experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace.
  2. Insurance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk.
  3. Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the insurance market, including market trends and competitor activity.
  4. CII Qualification: Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Technical Skills: Strong technical skills, including the ability to analyze complex insurance risks and provide expert advice.
  7. Presentation Skills: Good presentation abilities, with the ability to communicate complex insurance concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  8. Mentorship: Ability to act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
  9. Compliance and Regulation: Ability to work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
