Multi-Skilled Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Maintenance Team at Imerys' Herreschoff Kiln site in Devon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills to maximise plant and equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine preventive, corrective & breakdown maintenance
  • Fault finding, diagnostic and installation work
  • Calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems
  • Carry out Risk assessments and ensure all work areas are clean and free from hazards
  • Ordering site spares
  • Working from height and in confined spaces.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading company in the production of soft calcined kaolin. Our Herreschoff Kiln site produces two products - Polestar 200P and Polestar 200R serving high value Pharmaceutical Rubber, Polymers, Paints and Plastic Markets. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on health and safety.

Requirements:

  • Background from within a production/ heavy industrial environment with mechanical and electrical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment
  • Experience of working with/ on pumps, welding, mills, burners/furnaces/gas, intrusive chemical work and centrifuges is essential
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong HSE ethos
  • Proficient in the use of IT
  • Legally be able to drive in the UK
