Job Summary

Multi-Skilled Engineer

Location: Imerys – Herreschoff Kilns Site

Hours of Work: 12 Hour Day Shifts, 6am – 6pm

Shift Pattern:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (Wednesday and Thursday off)

Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday off)

Salary: Up to £39,000, Dependent on Skills and Experience

Job Role:

Imerys is seeking a skilled engineer to join our Maintenance Team at the Herreschoff Kiln site. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and electrical knowledge and skills to maximize plant and equipment availability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance
  • Fault finding, diagnostic, and installation work
  • Calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems
  • Carry out risk assessments and ensure all work areas are clean and free from hazards
  • Order site spares
  • Work from height and in confined spaces

Working Conditions:

The site operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Once fully competent, you will be required to join a rota system to provide out-of-hours support.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have a background from within a production/heavy industrial environment with mechanical and electrical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment. Experience of working with/ on pumps, welding, mills, burners/furnaces/gas, intrusive chemical work, and centrifuges is essential.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong HSE ethos
  • Proficient in the use of IT
  • Legally able to drive in the UK
