SEN Teaching Support Specialist

Join our team as a Special Education Needs Assistant and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils with special educational needs.
You will work in local SEN schools, supporting children with designated Education Health Care Plans (EHCP). These plans detail the specific needs of each child, including care and support they require.
As a Trainee SEN Teacher, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience working with children of varying ages and abilities. You will be supported by experienced staff who use a variety of teaching strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and student development.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching and support to pupils following individualised curriculums
- Support the delivery of lessons and activities, focusing on life skills
- Support pupils' participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice
- Provide behaviourally based support to reduce behaviours impacting quality of life
- Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene
- Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child's needs
- Assist with break time duties, including playground support and snack time
Estimated salary: £25,500 per annum (FTE).
