About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Mental Health Specialist, working with young people aged 18-25 in a new service that has been co-produced with young people themselves. The service will work across health, social care, and the voluntary sector to provide support and empowerment to young adults across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with young people 1:1 to provide support and empowerment
  • Attend joint appointments with CAMHS and AMHS to bridge the transition and support access to community resources
  • Offer input to the local 'young person hub' and liaise with social care and the voluntary sector to support disadvantaged young adults
  • Facilitate awareness of and engagement with opportunities within the community to help young people build a strong identity and work towards their desired future
Requirements
  • Professional registration (e.g. NMC)
  • Significant skills engaging young people, including interest and skills related to art, music, and/or other creative activities
  • Experience working with disadvantaged groups, including those who have been in care, the homeless, those who have experienced significant trauma and/or adversity, minority cultural backgrounds, those with disabilities, neurodevelopmental presentations, alcohol and/or substance misuse
