About the Role
As a Senior Maritime Safety Engineer at BAE Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of Royal Naval platforms, including Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers and Type 45 Destroyers. You will be responsible for leading safety engineering efforts, working closely with the Warship Technical Authority team and In-Service Support teams to provide subject matter expertise on product safety and environmental issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safety engineering leadership to ensure service consistency, operational performance, and continuous improvement across multiple RN Platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain maritime services product safety and environmental governance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with UK and International legislation, DSA02, and other MOD procedures.
- Lead design reviews, hazard identification/risk assessment workshops, and participate in developing, maintaining, and modifying maritime services product safety and environmental governance documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with safety and environmental legislation and advise colleagues and stakeholders of compliance requirements.
