As a Senior Marine Engineer at oilandgas, you will be part of a dynamic team that requires creativity and responsiveness to technological advancements and client needs. This role presents opportunities to contribute to concept surface & sub-surface vessel design, complex engineering tasks, tool creation, consultancy services, and decarbonisation solutions across various maritime projects.

We offer a hybrid arrangement allowing for better work-life balance while ensuring business goals are met. You can work from one of our main UK office locations (Bristol, Derby or Preston) with occasional travel to client sites dependent on project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining good problem-solving skills with a strong marine background.
  • FMEA
  • Not required to design subsystems but integrate them.
  • Developing a breadth of engineering skills in marine engineering and relevant fields.
  • Defining and conducting engineering analyses, technical studies, and research & development projects to deliver high-quality solutions to customers.
  • Providing mentoring support, guidance, and leadership to develop marine engineers' technical and behavioural skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Creating and maintaining technical and administrative procedures, standards, processes, practices, guidelines, and standards.
  • Assisting with quality standard maintenance and improvement in engineering, design, and production information.
  • Interfacing directly with customers and clients to discuss engineering solutions to complex problems.
  • Being a professional member of a relevant engineering institution and recognised as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer by the UK Engineering Council.
  • A proven track record of delivering reliability, productivity, and quality in a technical consultancy environment.

Estimated salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum based on location and experience.
