Chilypep is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Participation Specialist to join their team in Barnsley.

This role involves working with the Voice & Influence team, focusing on mental health participation work. Key responsibilities include facilitating weekly Young Commissioners sessions, mental health action groups, and work with young people in schools and colleges in the area.

The successful candidate will lead the planning and running of weekly Young Commissioners groups, supporting and facilitating young people's involvement in mental health service design and influencing.

Some 121 support for young people will also be required outside of group sessions, including liaison, signposting, and referring to other services where appropriate.

The estimated salary for this position is around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

To be considered for this role, applicants should have a recognised qualification in youth work or a related field, experience of working with young people affected by mental health issues, and experience of planning and leading group work.

Additional requirements include understanding of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice, ability to form positive relationships with children and young people, and competence in the use of various engagement tools and mediums.

The ideal candidate will be innovative and creative, able to work evenings and weekends, and willing to work from home when necessary.
