At WhereToTalk, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people aged 11-25, providing 1-2-1 therapeutic interventions and counselling through our Talk@HOME service.

About the Role

This role involves working closely with our team to deliver high-quality support to young people in Barnsley. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing therapy sessions, conducting initial assessments, and maintaining accurate records. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage with clients effectively, while your ability to adapt to changing situations will be essential in this fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1-2-1 therapeutic interventions and counselling for young people aged 11-25 through the Talk@HOME service.
  • Conduct initial assessments and allocate young people to members of the Talk@HOME team.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions.
  • Support bank counsellors in practical aspects such as building access and necessary paperwork.
  • Participate in peer supervision with other team members where possible.
Working Conditions

You will be based at our HOME Wellbeing Hub in Barnsley, working closely with the Chilypep Barnsley Team led by the HOME Manager. Regular contact with the board of trustees, CEO, HOME Manager, project coordinators, finance officer, administrator, and project volunteers is expected. A DBS check will be required due to the nature of the role, which involves contact with children and young people.

The estimated salary for this position is £**27,000 - £30,000 per annum**, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including 38 days' annual leave (pro rata) and a range of training opportunities.
