Wärtsilä seeks a seasoned Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead energy storage sales within our European growth markets, including the UK and Italy.

As a key member of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth in the energy storage sector. Your expertise will guide cross-functional teams, ensuring successful project execution from initial opportunity to final delivery.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of energy storage sales opportunities, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategic pricing models and cost estimations that maximize profitability for Wärtsilä while ensuring competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, adhering to contractual obligations and risk management protocols.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and identify emerging trends in the energy storage landscape, leveraging insights to inform sales strategies.
  • Cultivate a high-performing sales team through mentorship, coaching, and performance management, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Your Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the utility-scale renewable energy industry, with a strong emphasis on battery energy storage systems.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and motivating high-performing sales teams within complex project environments.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a deep understanding of contractual agreements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Fluent Italian is required. Spanish language proficiency is a significant advantage.
