Job Overview

This role involves providing timely, practical, and professional occupational health and safety advice to support the development and implementation of effective H&S policies, procedures, and systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in H&S advisory roles, with expertise in risk assessment, inspection, audit, and system management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert occupational H&S advice and guidance to employees, managers, and contractors.
  • Develop and maintain a positive H&S culture within the organization.
  • Assist in promoting, developing, and reviewing accredited safety management systems (ISO).
  • Facilitate the generation and review of risk assessments.
  • Deliver internal H&S training courses to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct regular H&S inspections independently and in conjunction with line management.
  • Support incident investigations, including receiving and investigating reports of adverse events and working with management to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, risk assessments, inspections, and tours using tracking systems.
  • Manage the H&S intranet site, generate periodic reports, and present performance data.
  • Act as a deputy for the Head of H&S when required.

Reporting Relationships

This role reports directly to the Head of Health & Safety UK/I.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification (essential).
  • A NEBOSH Diploma (desirable).
  • Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Power BI (desirable).
