About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety professional to join our team at Royal IHC Ltd based at our Port of Blyth facility. As the Lead HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in the management of the company's HSE policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and promoting a positive safety culture within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a quality HSE service to the business, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, customers, and contractors.
  • Carry out HSEQ reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with company policies and legislation.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work, promoting best practice and a positive safety culture.
  • Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring that actions agreed to prevent recurrence are implemented.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.

Requirements:

  • A recognized HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
  • Experience in a Health and Safety role or a role with exposure to safety risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Industry knowledge and analytical skills to interpret technical information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge at all levels on HSE issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying potential HSE issues.

Notes:

  • This role may involve national and international travel.
  • A driving license is essential.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours to support on-site teams during periods of testing, complex lifts, etc.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
