The Thrive Group is seeking a skilled Facilities Multi-trader to join their team in Midsomer Norton. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and maintenance of schools.

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, solving problems, managing projects, conducting preventative maintenance, ensuring building safety, and providing facilities support. If you have a passion for trade services and a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out repairs in occupied schools based on instructions from the Team Leader Maintenance.
  2. Problem Solving: Aim for a first-time fix on repairs, diagnose faults quickly, and work to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  3. Project Management: Oversee minor installation or alteration works and liaise with subcontractors for quotes.
  4. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct building maintenance in line with regulations and best practices.
  5. Building Safety: Lock/unlock school buildings as required, respond to breakdowns, and ensure areas are safe and secure.
  6. Facilities Support: Escort contractors and service engineers as needed and assist the Central Estates team in emergencies.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Valid driving licence required.
Salary and Benefits:

£25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including 26 days' annual leave (rising to 31 after 5 years service) pro rata, access to a government pension scheme, sick pay scheme, cycle to work scheme, free eye tests, and employee assistance helpline.
