About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Derivative Operations Specialist to join our Middle Office team, part of the Asset Management function at Phoenix Group Holdings. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading long-term savings and retirement business, offering a range of products across our market-leading brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Derivatives Oversight - Ensure that derivative operational activities are completed and provide ownership to resolve any outstanding issues.
  • Derivative Data - Ensure that derivative trades are correctly captured in internal systems.
  • Live Cycle Management - Perform middle office control on direct derivative trading, confirming, income, and resolving trade flow issues.
  • Onboarding New Systems - Work with our third-party providers to onboard new system capability and set up internal processes to utilize the tools available.
  • Risk and Control - Develop processes and procedures to ensure our derivative operations are functioning within our policy standards.
  • Regulatory - Support the business in meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Integration - As a key SME, support integration of new business lines emanating from closed book acquisitions, open book, and BPA activity.

    • Self-starter and independent worker with strong sense of ownership, capable of delivering, driving, and shaping results and to meet deadlines under pressure.
    • Proficient use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ideally the Aladdin platform.
  • Experience
    • Experience in the financial services industry.
    • Experience of managing Derivative products from a middle office or back office perspective.
  • Knowledge
    • Knowledge of the trade lifecycle of derivatives, including derivative documentation (ISDA/CSA and central clearing agreements).
    • Functional knowledge of end-to-end investment management technology/operating models, and downstream consumers/value chain.
    • Strong knowledge across investment products, including complex derivative structures.
