Traffic Management Specialist - 12d/Unit 2 Certified

Compensation: Up to £178.50 per shift based on location, expertise, and experience, alongside company bonuses, benefits, and overtime potential. Additionally, a £500 welcome bonus will be included in the first paycheck for all qualified operatives.

The standard working hours are 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. Shifts typically occur during the day, but may also require evening, night, and weekend work. Being part of the on-call rota is expected, especially if you have access to a company vehicle.

About Chevron Traffic Management:

Chevron Traffic Management specializes in establishing temporary road or lane closures, diversion routes, and pedestrian pathways to ensure the safety of road workers and users during roadworks. This includes deploying road cones, signage, temporary traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible throughout the country. The role is multifaceted, involving consultation, planning, design, estimation, and collaboration with suppliers and clients to ensure our schemes are effective. It also incorporates innovation and technology to enhance safety and reduce our carbon footprint.

Responsibilities of a Traffic Management Specialist:

The Traffic Management Specialist plays a crucial role in our operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting traffic counts, communicating with clients and subcontractors, and documenting timings and near misses.
  • Maintaining temporary traffic signals.
  • Installing, maintaining, and dismantling temporary traffic management equipment, including cones, signs, frames, sandbags, and other tools.
  • Assisting and mentoring new trainees.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • SLG Unit 2 or M1/M2 qualified as a minimum.
  • 12d Lantra qualification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Chapter 8 regulations.
  • Valid driving license with no more than 6 penalty points; any driving bans must have expired for at least 5 years.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test; employment offers will be contingent on the results.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
