Northern Rail is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Procurement and Supply Chain Director to lead our procurement and supply chain operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with UK procurement regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a procurement and supply chain strategy that aligns with Northern Rail's business objectives
  • Lead procurement operations, including contract negotiation and renewal, and ensure compliance with public procurement regulations
  • Manage a team of procurement professionals and provide guidance on procurement best practices
  • Oversee budget planning and ensure spending aligns with Northern Rail's financial objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and improve customer satisfaction
Requirements:
  • Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in a senior procurement role, with a proven track record of delivering cost-saving programs
  • Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation, contract management, and supplier performance management
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in procurement software and contract management systems
