Job Title: UK Head of Data Governance

Investec is a leading Specialist Bank serving clients in the UK and South Africa. We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our data governance efforts, ensuring the highest standards of data quality, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a robust data governance framework, encompassing data quality, protection, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of data stewardship and responsible data management.
  • Ensure adherence to data protection laws and mitigate data-related risks.
  • Oversee programs to monitor and improve data accuracy and reliability, implementing data quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to protect sensitive data and prepare our data for AI initiatives.
  • Establish metrics to track and enhance data governance processes, driving continued improvement.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in data governance, with a strong understanding of data protection laws and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and its specific data challenges and regulatory environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build consensus and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset focused on balancing risk management with business objectives.
