Job Title: Curator (Collections)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Curator to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to grow the representation of contemporary science in our collections, ensuring that we are at the forefront of thinking about the material culture of recent science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to collect, preserve, and make accessible materials related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Work with colleagues across the organization to harness the unique storytelling potential of objects, 2D materials, oral histories, and multisensory experiences.
  • Collaborate with collecting initiatives nationally and internationally to ensure that our collections are representative of the global response to the pandemic.
  • Develop and deliver strategies to grow the representation of contemporary science in our collections.
  • Ensure that our collections are accessible and usable by a wide range of audiences.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as museum studies, history of science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in curatorial work, particularly in the field of science and technology.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
