Curator (Collections) Role

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Curator to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. As a Curator, you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to grow the representation of contemporary science in our collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to collect, preserve, and make accessible contemporary science materials
  • Work with colleagues across the organization to harness the unique storytelling potential of objects, 2D materials, oral histories, and multisensory experiences
  • Collaborate with collecting initiatives nationally and internationally to ensure that our collections are representative of the latest developments in science, technology, and medicine
  • Develop and deliver strategies to grow the representation of contemporary science in our collections

Requirements

  • Proven experience in curating and collecting contemporary science materials
  • Strong understanding of the importance of digital preservation and the role of collections in supporting future science education and research
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization
