Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science Trainer to join our team at the Oxford Biomedical Data Science (OBDS) training programme. In this role, you will play a key part in training biomedical scientists in data science and computational genomics, as well as contributing to computational biology research and software development.

The MRC WIMM Centre for Computational Biology (CCB) is a hub for interdisciplinary research, working closely with scientists and clinicians to leverage 'big data' in biology. As a member of our team, you will work alongside an international team of over 40 computational biologists, collaborating with 500 lab-based scientists and clinicians.

To succeed in this role, you will hold an MSc or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, physics, statistics, engineering, or mathematics) or a biomedical subject with relevant computational experience. Additionally, you will have experience in developing and delivering training in computational biology/data science methods and staying up-to-date with the latest advances in these areas (e.g., machine learning, cloud computing).

Key skills required for this position include experience in working in a Linux/Unix command-line environment and proficiency in software development and data analysis in Python and/or R. The role is available on a fixed-term basis for 2 years, funded by the OBDS Training Programme.
