Job Purpose

The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting Zumo Financial Services Limited's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of our month-end processes, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, reviewing and analyzing the balance sheet and profit or loss statements, along with appropriate reconciliations.

This position is suited for individuals looking to grow their career in finance, offering hands-on experience in a dynamic start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity and high service levels of the Finance Function.
  • Prepare accurate and timely Management Accounts, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies in financial performance.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management, including the CEO and CFO.
  • Maintain and upkeep of accruals and prepayments and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee and support junior members of the team's role, including bank reconciliation and Accounts Payable controls, supporting process improvements and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Manage intercompany accruals and transactions.
  • Support Budgeting and Forecasting process, providing detailed reports and analysis to support management decisions.
  • Prepare payroll with the support of company accountants.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns with the support of company accountants.
  • Work with the CFO on the year-end reporting process, preparing year-end reporting and liaising with accountants.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  • Qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a fintech or other fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in the crypto industry desirable, but not essential.
