Support Secretary for Urology Department

We are seeking a highly skilled secretary to join our Urology Secretarial Team in a supportive role based at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop surgical secretarial skills and gain experience within a busy Urological Department.
The ideal candidate must have a good knowledge of office practices, medical terminology, and excellent interpersonal skills. They should also be reliable, flexible, and able to work under pressure as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for typing audio and digital documents, maintaining investigation systems for patient results, and undertaking typing of other clinical groups within the Urology Department.
They will also process Choose & Book referrals, deliver investigation requests to other departments within the hospital, and administer the postal service for outgoing patient letters.
To support the consultants and consultant secretaries in providing an efficient secretarial service, this role requires strong communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be aware of RTT pathways and adjust the patient referral to treatment clock accordingly.
Responsibilities include looking up, sorting, and filing patient results, photocopying, and general filing. The ideal candidate will also deal with telephone queries in an appropriate manner and ensure all referrals are collected and distributed without delay.

In order to be considered for this role, candidates must have a minimum of 5 GCSE's including English or equivalent and RSA II or equivalent touch typing/computer skills.
