Clinical Specialist in Urology

We are at an exciting time within Urology at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, and we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Specialist in Urology to join our Urology Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with a range of urological conditions, including stone disease.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to develop their skills and expertise in a specialist area of Urology. The successful candidate will be supported with training and education where needed, to fulfill the remit of the role, including the clinical skills and knowledge required to manage the service and to meet the needs of patients with Stone Disease.
The successful candidate will be a key member of a highly functioning Urology Team, working collaboratively with consultants and highly experienced nurses to deliver the best outcomes for patients accessing Urology care at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This role requires an active current registration with the relevant professional body.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and managing patients with a range of urological conditions, including stone disease.
- Working as part of a highly functioning Urology Team to transform care for Urology patients.
- Developing a sub-specialist interest in urological stone disease, with a focus on assessment, management, and decision-making for patients presenting with acute renal colic.
- Actively contributing to and helping to prioritize an elective stone procedure waiting list.
- Leading with the development and delivery of plans for an on-site hot lithotripter to transform care for patients with acute renal colic.
- Overseeing and contributing to the pre-assessment of patients awaiting stone surgery.
