Healthcare Support Officer

Are you passionate about providing excellent administrative support in a healthcare setting? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our Urology Secretarial Team, supporting consultants and consultant secretaries in providing an efficient secretarial service. As a Healthcare Support Officer, you will be responsible for typing all clinical correspondence using audio/Digital Dictation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
You will also play a crucial role in managing RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways, liaising with consultant secretaries and/or validators as necessary. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help ensure that patient referrals are processed efficiently, preventing delays and breaches.
Main Responsibilities- Typing of clinical correspondence, including operation and clinic letters, under the supervision of the consultant secretary.
- Managing RTT pathways, adjusting patient referral clocks according to treatment plans, and highlighting potential issues to prevent breaches.
- Liaising with consultant secretaries and/or validators to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient referrals.
- Dealing with telephone queries in an appropriate manner, as instructed by the consultant secretary.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including English or equivalent, or relevant previous work experience in a similar role.
- RSA II or equivalent touch typing/computer skills.
- Computer literacy with word processing experience.
- Data accuracy on computer systems.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
