Job Title: Process Control Technician

As a Process Control Technician at Thames Water, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our water treatment processes. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor and control various water treatment processes via SCADA systems, including abstraction, filtration, ozonation, and disinfection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and control water treatment processes using SCADA systems.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with the treatment process or customer supply.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as process failures or power failures, and follow established procedures to escalate and stabilize the process.
  • Conduct water quality sampling and testing as per regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including shift logs, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
  • Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety and contribute to improving Health and Safety standards on site.
  • Liaise with other departments, such as Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control, to find solutions for issues and deliver the best results for the site.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in procedures and asset standards, and maintain your technical knowledge and training.
Requirements:
  • Hands-on and practical approach with impeccable attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised for long periods and cover shifts as required by the TW shift agreement.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills, including proficiency in email and SCADA equipment operation.
  • LTO desirable, but not essential.
  • A driving license is desirable but not essential.
