The BSW In Reach Team is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of Clinical Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Nurses in Lead Clinical Specialist and Clinical Specialist roles. The team promotes a more coordinated and effective approach to integrated working with the Local Authority Children's Services, providing a coordinated experience of care and support to children, young people, and families (CYPF) who have multiple and complex needs.
Main Duties of the JobThis role offers an opportunity to work with a group of children and young people who have experienced sexual harm, and the networks that support them. The post holder will provide consultation, supervision, and training to professionals working with this group of young people. The role also involves delivering workshops and groups for parents and carers of children who have experienced sexual harm.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality specialist support to professionals, parents, and carers supporting children and young people who have experienced sexual harm.
- Provide consultation and support to team members across Children's Social Care and Wiltshire and Swindon CAMHS who deliver assessments, care, and interventions to children and young people who have experienced sexual harm.
- Provide training to a range of staff in Children's Social Care and BSW CAMHS colleagues.
- Attend strategy and multi-agency meetings for young people identified open to the BSW In-Reach team to contribute to the multi-agency planning and response.
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
- Utilize research skills for audit and contribute to research and training within the areas served by the teams and service.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Registered RMN, OT, Social Worker, or Psychological Therapist qualification.
- Additional training in a NICE-informed evidence base for sexual trauma (e.g., EDMR, trauma-focused CBT training, NET, psychotherapy).
- Experience of working with young people who are known to Children's Social Care and present with complex needs.
- Experience of working with the Mental Health Act and robust knowledge of the Children's Act.
- Evidence of contribution to policy, protocols, and patient care pathway development.
- Evidence of involvement in strategic-level decision-making.
- Formal leadership skills and experience.
