Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care to young people and families in the Melksham area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and support to the team in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our service users.
  • Develop and implement services across the patch, including the CAMHS Getting More Help Team and the Neurodevelopmental Clinic.
  • Work closely with senior managers to implement trust objectives and promote effective team working.
  • Participate in clinical leadership and contribute to the development of our services.

About the Role

This is a substantive Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatry post with the multidisciplinary team in Melksham, covering CAMHS in West Wiltshire. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced consultants who provide psychiatric input to the Eating Disorders Service, Neurodevelopmental Clinic, and CAMHS Learning Disability Team.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for Section 12 (Mental Health Act 1983) Approval and Approved Clinician status.
  • Eligible for Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Registrar in a psychiatric speciality or within six months of achieving registration at the time of interview.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher degree/diploma or equivalent in relevant field of medical or psychological studies.
  • Higher specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in approved training post for a minimum of three years and/or previous consultant experience.
