About the Role

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Bed Flow Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and improve our acute/urgent care services.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the patient flow team to review requests for admission across the Trust.
  • Collaborate with adult inpatient teams to identify patients who can be discharged, offering constructive challenge where needed.
  • Provide clinical oversight in decision-making, including prioritization for admission based on risks.
  • Work with the patient flow team and other clinical leads to review pathways for admission/discharge, ensuring they are clear and efficient.
  • Attend daily patient flow meetings and provide clinical input.

Requirements

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • CCT in Psychiatry or inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry.
