Consultant Psychiatrist in Learning Disability

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Bed Flow Team at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and improve our acute/urgent care services, working closely with patients, families, and carers.
Main Responsibilities- Collaborate with the patient flow team to review admission requests across the Trust.
- Work with adult inpatient teams to identify patients who can be discharged, providing constructive challenge where necessary.
- Conduct one-off reviews of specific patients to provide a second opinion on management, where beneficial.
- Contribute to reviewing pathways for admission/discharge to ensure clarity and efficiency.
- Attend daily patient flow meetings, providing clinical oversight and prioritizing admissions based on risks.

Requirements- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- CCT in Psychiatry or inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in psychiatry.
- Experience in working with complex needs within General Adult Psychiatry.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable services.
- Experience in working with complex and high-risk presentations, including complex EUPD and dual diagnosis.
- Mentoring support for new Consultants.
- Dedicated support for leadership development.
