A stimulating role has become available for an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Specialist Nurse to join our dynamic IBD Specialist Nursing team at an undisclosed care organisation.



Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for managing Inflammatory Bowel Disease patients on biologic treatments, working within national and local guidelines.



Working alongside clinical colleagues and autonomously to provide expert care, treatment and support to patients.



The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of investigations, treatment, monitoring and review of patients who may have unstable, complex disease.



Play a key role within the multidisciplinary team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated and timely approach to care.

Job Requirements

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months.



Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential


  • Degree in nursing or equivalent portfolio of evidence experience at a senior level through.
  • Prescribing qualification- Nurse independent (for Band 7).
  • Management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Disorders module at level 6 or above (for Band 7).
  • Computer literate.
  • Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols, and/or clinical audit.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of IBD, current legislation, guidelines and the competent management of patients with IBD (Band 7).


Desirable


  • Previous Specialist Nurse/ Band 6 or 7 experience.
