About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director - Respiratory Services to lead our respiratory medicine department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and developing our services.

About the Department

Our respiratory medicine department is a dynamic and forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of respiratory medicine. We provide services to two local acute hospitals and an immediate catchment population of approximately half a million patients.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Service Development
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and service quality.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new services and initiatives.
  • Mentor and supervise junior medical staff to ensure their growth and development.
Clinical Expertise
  • Provide sound clinical opinion on a range of acute medical conditions.
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in EBUS procedures.
RequirementsEssential Qualifications and Experience
  • Full Registration with the GMC is mandatory.
  • GMC Specialist Registration (or expected inclusion within 6 months) is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Education or significant experience in postgraduate training is desirable.
