Role Overview

The University of Cambridge seeks a Senior Statistical Geneticist to provide analytical expertise in the design, implementation, and interpretation of projects utilizing human genetics data.

The successful candidate will use their substantial computational background and experience of using statistical genetics approaches to analyze whole exome/genome sequence data in both clinical genetic studies and/or large-scale population studies, such as the UK Biobank.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and interpret projects utilizing human genetics data.
  2. Analyze whole exome/genome sequence data in both clinical genetic studies and/or large-scale population studies.
  3. Use statistical genetics approaches to identify genetic variants associated with complex traits.

Requirements

  • PhD in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or closely related fields.
  • Substantial computational background and experience of using statistical genetics approaches.
  • Ability to think creatively and flexibly in bridging the analyses of common and rare genetic variation together with gene expression data across species.
