Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced computational biologist with expertise in statistical genetics to join our team. The successful candidate will use their substantial background in bioinformatics and genomics to analyse whole exome/genome sequence data in both clinical genetic studies and/or large-scale population studies.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement and interpret projects utilising human genetics data.
- Provide analytical support to research groups within the Metabolic Research Laboratories (MRL).
- Collaborate with researchers to bridge analyses of common and rare genetic variation together with gene expression data across species.
- PhD in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or closely related fields.
- Substantial computational background and experience of using statistical genetics approaches.
- Possible appointment as an SRA on the RA scale or towards the bottom of the SRA scale.
- Evidence of an independent research reputation required.
- Basic disclosure (criminal records check), health assessment and security check.
Fixed-term: Available until 31 March 2030 in the first instance.
