**Research Opportunity at the University of Cambridge**

The Genomics and Bioinformatics Core (GBC) within the Institute of Metabolic Science at the University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Statistical Geneticist to join their team.

The role involves providing analytical and data management support to research groups within the Metabolic Research Laboratories (MRL) and covering aspects of genomics, including genome sequencing and single-cell approaches.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical genetics and experience in analysing whole exome/genome sequence data in both clinical genetic studies and large-scale population studies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Design, implement, and interpret projects utilising human genetics data
  • Analyse whole exome/genome sequence data in both clinical genetic studies and large-scale population studies
  • Use computational background and experience of statistical genetics approaches

**Requirements:**

  • PhD in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or closely related fields
  • Substantial computational background and experience of using statistical genetics approaches
