Public Desire is a leading fashion brand based in Manchester, UK. We are seeking an experienced Senior Womenswear Designer to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and creative Senior Womenswear Designer to lead our womenswear design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality womenswear collections that meet the brand's aesthetic and commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality womenswear collections that meet the brand's aesthetic and commercial goals.
  • Lead the womenswear design team and provide guidance and support to junior designers.
  • Collaborate with the buying and merchandising teams to ensure that designs are commercially viable and meet the brand's sales targets.
  • Source and select fabrics, trims, and other materials to ensure that designs are of high quality and meet the brand's standards.
  • Work closely with the design manager and head of buying to deliver monthly drops and ensure that designs are on time and to budget.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the brand's target market and consumer trends to inform design decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends and technologies to ensure that designs are innovative and relevant.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing campaigns and product launches that showcase the brand's designs.
  • Manage and maintain a high level of quality control to ensure that designs meet the brand's standards.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in womenswear design, preferably in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of fashion design principles, including color, texture, and pattern.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance creative vision with commercial goals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of the brand's target market and consumer trends.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends and technologies.
