About Public Desire

Public Desire is a UK-based fashion brand that values creativity and innovation. We are seeking an experienced and talented Womenswear Designer to join our team at our Manchester HQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and selecting high-quality fabrics, trims, and embellishments to create visually appealing products.
  • Collaborating closely with the Design Manager and Buying Team to deliver monthly product drops.
  • Working across our Kaiia jersey ranges and woven-based multi-product trends for Wholesale Partners.
  • Analyzing sales data to maximize best sellers and drive company profit.
  • Developing commercially viable ranges alongside the Buying Team to deliver high-quality products to our customer base at a competitive price point.
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure products meet the highest quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Creating detailed tech packs and ensuring premium quality first samples from suppliers.
  • Fitting products weekly with our Garment Technician to ensure a high fitting standard across our ranges.
  • Attending photoshoots to help with styling and capturing e-commerce imagery.
  • Range building to create cohesive, commercial product collections with the Design Manager and Buying Team.
  • Showing initiative by expanding on our existing offering through designing into new product categories.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Public Desire's brand identity, vision, and customer base.
  • Experience of 3+ years in womenswear/fashion design, ideally across multi-product categories.
  • Degree in a fashion-related field.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience designing graphics and branding.
  • Comprehensive understanding of fabrics and techniques.
  • Highly organized.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to seek out and reinterpret emerging trends.
  • Ability to work under pressure with quick turnarounds and tight deadlines.
  • Great knowledge of fashion-forward celebrities and influencers.
  • Positive attitude and a passionate team player.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Enjoys a challenge.
  • Excellent visual communication skills.

Working Arrangements
