About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Communications Director to join our team at Magdalen College School. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial role in promoting the College School to current and prospective parents, students, staff, and the wider public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Marketing and Communications Strategy to ensure effective promotion of the College School to key audiences.
  • Provide strategic oversight of the School's website, ensuring its evolution, update, and accuracy, and writing news stories and producing content to maximize SEO.
  • Use Google Analytics to monitor conversion rates, analyze and improve user journeys, and assess the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns.
  • Produce the school's print and online materials, including admissions information, open day programs, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
  • Manage the school's extensive photo and video library, including the acquisition of new photography and video across all areas of the school.
  • Manage the school's social media accounts, ensuring a timely response to comments and messages.
  • Manage the school's print and online advertising campaigns, and oversee the schedule to ensure assets are supplied on time.
  • Liaise with the school's PPC agency and execute search advertising.
  • Assist the Admissions team with open events, supplying them with promotional materials and providing additional hands-on support during busy times.
  • Oversee the Marketing Officer in managing the press cuttings portfolio via Coverage Book software.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of marketing in education or a similar field.
  • Highly skilled communicator with management experience of developing marketing and communication strategies and campaigns for diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of current practices and principles of all aspects of marketing, specifically digital and website.
  • Strong social media and digital skills, including knowledge of WordPress or a similar CMS.
  • First-rate organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects on deadline and within budget.
  • Strong people skills (all ages).
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have demonstrable experience in a similar role and any experience gained within an educational environment will be highly desirable. You will possess/have:

  • Demonstrable success of developing and implementing successful PR, marketing, and communications plans.
  • Inherent feel for the highly competitive independent education environment.
  • Strong digital skills, manage and report on the performance of the website, social media, and all digital activity.
  • Experience of using social media and growing multiple platforms.
  • Develop strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and to work well in a team environment.
  • Managerial and leadership experience including responsibility for line management.
  • A high level of self-motivation, forward thinking, and adaptability.
  • An exemplary attention to detail and to working to high standards and to best practice.
  • A flexible approach to working hours according to the needs of the School.
