We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Beaumont Care Homes. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep of our care homes and surrounding grounds. This includes undertaking planned maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of services such as heating, lighting, and plumbing, and maintaining the exterior of the homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake planned maintenance of the care home and surrounding grounds.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of services such as heating, lighting, and plumbing.
  • Maintain the exterior of the care homes, including pathways, driveways, flowerbeds, and grassed areas.
  • Ensure compliance with essential checks and identify and report maintenance defects.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota.
  • Undertake decorating, including painting and wallpapering, minor refurbishment, and maintenance within the home.
  • Assist with fire and water risk assessments and reviews.
  • Maintain the company vehicle and carry out basic safety checks.

Requirements:

  • Background in maintenance, painting and decorating, or general trades experience.
  • Enthusiasm to support our residents and promote excellent health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Confidence and enthusiasm to carry out fault-finding and basic repairs to equipment.
  • Passion for enhancing the specialist services we deliver.
