Area Manager

Drive business success at Halfords as an Area Manager, leading retail teams to deliver exceptional store standards and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement area and store-level business plans that align with Halfords' strategic objectives, 6 months in advance.
- Team Management: Manage long-range and daily colleague deployment to ensure operational efficiency and great customer service.
- Performance Coaching: Upskill and coach store teams, manage change, and drive performance, implementing effective succession planning and identifying top talent.
- Employee Engagement: Drive engagement by reflecting feedback and embedding Halfords' values, through regular communication, conference calls, meetings, and 'huddles'.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze KPIs and sales metrics, developing targeted plans for underperforming stores.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure stores maintain exceptional standards by implementing and validating operational and commercial changes, being accountable for health and safety, retail compliance, stock management, and asset maintenance.
Requirements:
- Proven success in leading multi-site retail teams and achieving sales targets.
- Strong business planning and compliance expertise, with the ability to manage change effectively.
- Solid understanding of employment practices and financial reporting.
- A hands-on, motivational leader with excellent decision-making, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Commercially savvy, with a determined and proactive approach to drive performance and results.
