Job Title: Area Manager


About the Role: As an Area Manager at Halfords, you will play a pivotal role in driving business performance, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Business Planning: Develop and implement 6-month business plans for areas and stores, aligning with Halfords’ strategic objectives.
  • Colleague Deployment: Manage colleague deployment to ensure operational efficiency and great customer service.
  • Team Development: Upskill and coach store teams, manage change, and drive performance. Identify top talent and build high-performing teams through effective succession planning.
  • Employee Engagement: Drive engagement by reflecting feedback and embedding Halfords’ values. Regular communication through conference calls, meetings, and ‘huddles’ will be key.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse KPIs and sales metrics, developing targeted plans for underperforming stores.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure stores maintain exceptional standards by implementing and validating operational and commercial changes. Be accountable for health and safety, retail compliance, stock management, and asset maintenance.

Requirements:



  • Proven success in leading multi-site retail teams and achieving sales targets.
  • Strong business planning and compliance expertise, with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Solid understanding of employment practices and financial reporting.
  • A hands-on, motivational leader with excellent decision-making, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Commercially savvy, with a determined and proactive approach to drive performance and results.
