Senior Business Development Specialist

We're building the giant, virtual charging platform of the future, making electric vehicle ownership as smart and as simple as possible. Our virtual platform connects over 800,000 electric vehicle chargers across web, iOS, Android, CarPlay, Android Auto, and Automotive OS. We're expanding internationally, partnering with automotive and tech companies, and creating integrated charging experiences. Our goal is to make public EV charging super simple for customers.
About the Role:
We're looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team. You'll play a key role in selling our services to businesses and fleet operators, helping them transition to electric vehicles. As the face and voice of Octopus Energy, you'll advise and support customers throughout their journey. You'll be passionate about delivering awesome customer experiences, driving sustainability, and building meaningful relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and establish sales pipelines with customers, hitting targets and smashing them along the way.
- Shape and drive customer acquisition, generating your own leads and benefiting from shared leads across the wider Octopus group.
- Manage your pipeline, recording progress in our CRM system and keeping everything up to date.
- Champion customer satisfaction, recording what works best and sharing insights to improve the customer experience.
- Plan, attend, and run customer launch events to spread the word about electric charging and electric vehicles.
- Provide excellent customer service through the sales process and after-sales customer care.
- Collaborate with the wider teams to iterate propositions and materials for the B2B market.
- Strategically build your pipeline by working with the team to create strong relationships with customers and internal departments.
What You'll Need:
- A track record of delivering exceptional customer experience.
- Previous sales experience in a B2B consultative environment.
- A strong passion for Electric Vehicles and Decarbonisation.
- Excellent listening skills and great communication.
- A genuine passion for putting the customer first and going the extra mile.
- An ability to show a completer finisher mentality and understanding of processes.
- A start-up / entrepreneurial mindset, adjusting to change and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
