About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Options Officer to join our team at Coventry City Council. As a key member of our Housing and Homelessness Service, you will play a vital role in preventing homelessness and providing excellent case management services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments with customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to identify their needs and develop personalized plans to prevent homelessness.
  • Make decisions in line with homelessness legislation and communicate these decisions to applicants in writing.
  • Mediate between applicants and landlords to resolve disputes and find suitable housing solutions.
  • Work on a rota basis to cover front-line homelessness functions, providing advice, guidance, and signposting to customers.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working within Housing, Homelessness, Voluntary, and Advisory sectors is desirable but not essential.
  • We are keen to receive applications from candidates with lived experience of homelessness.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
