About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Practitioner to join our Ophthalmology Research delivery team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Ophthalmic Imaging and providing specialist research and clinical care to research participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach eligible patients, consent patients, and support the delivery of study interventions and clinical investigations.
  • Manage and coordinate delegated research studies, working closely with the clinical MDT to lead the way to improved care and treatments.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of international standards of clinical research governance to deliver complex research.

Requirements

  • Significant patient-facing experience caring for a range of patients, ideally in the acute setting.
  • Foundation degree level or NVQ Level 6 in a Physiological or Physical Sciences, Healthcare Science or related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Research Imaging Technician, with the ability to work towards achieving the relevant competencies and experience to be eligible to apply for accreditation as a clinical research practitioner with the Academy of Health Care Science.
