About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Practitioner to join our Ophthalmology Research delivery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Ophthalmic Imaging and providing specialist research and clinical care to research participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach eligible patients, consent patients, and support the delivery of study interventions and clinical investigations.
  • Manage and coordinate delegated research studies, working closely with senior research nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
  • Act as a patient advocate, protecting the patient from harm and maintaining their rights.

Requirements

  • Significant clinical experience, working face to face with patients, in a relevant speciality with proven ability and competence to undertake a range of clinical tasks.
  • Recent NHS clinical experience or equivalent.
  • Understanding of personal accountability and logical and consistent work and career pattern.
  • Interest in Clinical Research and willingness to work towards level of skills and competencies required in line with accreditation for Clinical Research Practitioners through the Academy of Health care Sciences.
