Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Practitioner to join our Ophthalmology Research delivery team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Ophthalmic Imaging and providing specialist research and clinical care to research participants.

Main Duties

You will identify and approach eligible patients, consent patients, and support the delivery of study interventions and clinical investigations. You will also manage and coordinate delegated research studies, working closely with our experienced senior research nurses and Allied Health Professionals to develop your skills and provide gold-standard care to our patients.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and enthusiastic team, contributing to improved care and treatments in Ophthalmology. You will have the opportunity to develop your career in Research Imaging and work towards achieving the relevant competencies and experience to be eligible to apply for accreditation as a Clinical Research Practitioner with the Academy of Health Care Science.

Requirements

  • Significant clinical experience, working face to face with patients, in a relevant speciality with proven ability and competence to undertake a range of clinical tasks.
  • Recent NHS clinical experience or equivalent.
  • Understanding of personal accountability.
  • Logical and consistent work and career pattern.
  • Interest in Clinical Research.
