Job Opportunity: Strategic Stewardship Professional

Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) is a leading pension insurer that provides secure retirement incomes through comprehensive risk management, asset and liability management, and exceptional customer service. Our purpose is to pay the pensions of our current and future policyholders.

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Stewardship Professional to drive our engagement strategy and establish internal engagement capabilities to strengthen PIC's direct engagements with investee companies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering PIC's Engagement Strategy by leveraging diverse channels and participating in collaborative initiatives with external partners;
  • Finalising the preparation of PIC's Stewardship Code application, ensuring it meets the FRC reporting criteria and is submitted by the deadline after undergoing necessary governance and reviews;
  • Collaborating with internal teams to enhance direct engagements with investee companies;
  • Oversight of managers' engagement activity, including timely meetings and information requests;
  • Communicating PIC's stewardship activities to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board and Trustees;
  • Improving processes related to our engagement platform to enhance efficiency, usefulness, and clarity in reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stewardship practices, governance structures, direct engagement, and the FRC's Stewardship Code. Experience in a similar role within an asset owner, asset manager, data provider, ESG advisors/consultants, or NGOs is essential. Additionally, hands-on experience with assessing ESG risks and integrating ESG factors into the investment process is required.

A competitive salary of £85,000 - £110,000 per annum is offered, along with access to private medical insurance, 28 days' annual leave, a generous pension scheme, and other benefits.
